Installing Genshin Impact on Linux

To install the game, you will need wine and winetricks installed at the bare minimum.

• Get the Windows installer from here.
• Set up a wineprefix for the game
  • This is where the game will be installed, so place it somewhere with lots of space.
  • Grab at least lutris-6.4 for the wine runner.
• Install the components the game needs to run flawlessly
  • On Lutris, open Winetricks via the menu, and install the windows component faudio and the font corefonts. You don't need to manually install DXVK, because Lutris can do it for you.
• Run the downloaded installer .exe with Wine
  • On Lutris, use the Run EXE inside wine prefix menu action for this.
  • Go with the default settings, and wait for it to download the game.
  • Once it is done, do not press launch. Exit the launcher.
• Apply the GI-on-Linux patch
  • See the README.md section: [Applying the patch]
• Play the game
  • Point Lutris to the newly copied launcher.bat, which will be at (your wineprefix)/drive_c/Program Files/Genshin Impact/Genshin Impact game/launcher.bat, and then click Play.
  • It is normal for the game to sometimes crash on launch.
