Brother Harvey JS Alansbarn wears the emblem of the Ilmater and often dresses in reds and greys/neutrals. Though only in his late 20s he bares several scars. And anyone looking into his eyes can tell that Harvey has been witness to some terrible, unspeakable things.

Brother Harvey JS Alansbarn is an investigator for the Church of Ilmater who recently lost his mentor, Priest Xiang. The two of them were tracking slavers along the Sword Coast, but were captured and tortured. Xiang didn't survive. Harvey watched helplessly, explaining the Haunted One backstory.

Born into slavery in the very city known as The City of Slaves, Calimport¹, Calimshan², his family along with several friends and relatives fled to Waterdeep when he was eight. Upon arrival he and his parents were separated from the group. One night while making camp outside of BG, they were mugged. The attackers fatally wounded his parents and kidnapped him. They stuffed him into a sack.

As they smuggled him, Harvey a strange power inside of him burning and a blinding light lit up the inside of the sack, shining through the fabric. Moments later he was rescued by a group of clerics of Ilmater. It was Harvey's own doing, casting some kind of magic that had given away his abduction. The clerics took him in as their own and taught him the ways of magic. They never found his parents, or any of the others of Harvey's group.

Harvey is currently searching for a missing child of his church. He has a lead that a ship is taking the child, possibly others, to Calimport.

Harvey would kill:

the person who tortured him and murdered his mentor
to find those who murdered his mentor
to stop slavers

For me

His name Harvey JS comes from J Stewart, the actor from the movie with the ghost bunny, mixed with a little of New York Zorro's DA of the same first name. And while there's a little bit of New York Zorro in his backstory, I have initially modeled his overall character after the big magnet dude from the X-folks.

Brother John and I know each other because we delivered some heretics to justice one time. We speak Orc to each other.

We met in Neverwinter. Headed out to Phfandolin [sic]. Two days on the road, we stopped at some dead horses. Fought some goblins.

Our story begins on the 1st day of the 2nd ten-day, in the month of Marpenoth 1497 DR.

We go to the Manor dressed as Redbrands.
In the first room we find a waterproof bag hidden in a well.
Upon entering the second room, Kellar is killed by crossbow bolts.
But Kellar was saved!
