  1. Purpose
  2. ===============
  3. Suggest, discuss and choose names for components in the system.
  4. How It Works
  5. ===============
  6. There are four lists to work with:
  7. 1. The list of components in the [[list]] page
  8. 2. A list of names
  9. 3. A list of match suggestions
  10. 4. A list of decisions
  11. The first list contains component descriptions and short identifiers which
  12. allow to refer to them from here.
  13. The second list contains name suggestions in a two-level hierarchy which
  14. works as follows:
  15. * The items in the first level are English words.
  16. * If a word is not intended to be used as a name, and only its translations
  17. are, it is written inside parentheses.
  18. * On the second level, translations may appear, one per line, and the language
  19. for each translation.
  20. Example:
  21. (World)
  22. + Olam (Hebrew)
  23. Love
  24. + Ahava (Hebrew)
  25. + Aimer (French)
  26. (Energy)
  27. "Energy" in this example means I don't intend to use the word Energy itself,
  28. but I intend to check translations and haven't done so yet.
  29. The third list contains component references and names suggested for
  30. them. These names remain in the name list as long as they are just
  31. suggestions. The same name can be suggested for more than one component.
  32. The fourth list contains component references and names chosen for them. When
  33. a name is chosen, it is removed from the name list. The details of the name
  34. (language, translation, etc.) move with it to the decision list, so it's
  35. easy to move it back to the name list in case a decision is reverted.
