After the 4.0 update, I started to notice that Anime Game consumes a lot more VRAM. Is there any way to reduce the consumption? I play at near max settings and it never happened before. Now 4gb vram starts to be not enough after about 1-2 hours of play.

I've checked some VRAM issue reports, it seems that the windows version also has the same issue.

The VRAM usage increase everytime when you open the main menu, or world map, or even quest menu and gacha menu, but with not a VRAM reduce. So you play longer, the VRAM usage will be larger, till the VRAM leaks to the max, then the game will be slowdown heavily.

We can just restart the game manually when the game was slowdowned.

I had report the VRAM BUG to Hoyoverse, hope this bug will be fixed soon.

The game does consume a lot of VRAM on windows also, but on windows, when the game reach the 98% VRAM usage, windows will de-allocate the unused resource and the performance is not affect too much.

that why we don't received much complain from windows user since the game is function normally without crashing aside form unusual amount of vram usage (which will not notice by user unless they are using overlay software like afterburner/rtss)

More on that, I've read this recently from one of the devs behind dxvk, it also supports what @nhauttu1986 said.

1 thing that helps with this is to disable graphics pipeline library.

Tho if you can already play 1-2 hours im not sure if its using GPL as on my laptop 4GB gpu with GPL enabled, it was stuttering from the start, and after disabling it, i could play maybe 2 hours until fps started dropping.

Latest update notes in-game seem to indicate that the memory leak should be solved, or at least addressed in some manner. Not at my PC so I can't really test it.

EDIT: It also says that "Travelers who encounter the above issues can start the game via the launcher after exiting the game to get the update" - probably updated the game executable and won't be fixed just by launching the game.

I can confirm there's a 400mb patch through the official launcher, and it updated the exe and a few other assets and changed game version from 4.0.0 to 4.0.1

I've made a copy of the zip file and uploaded it here in the meantime, while someone smarter finds a way to get the direct link https://drive.google.com/file/d/1tDiVlPMH2OtOYlMeXSAOFKwdYmB54xUp/view?usp=drive_link

Edit: I'm dumb, Anime Game Launcher sees the update and downloads it automatically

Yep,yesterday I sent my game crash reports due Miyoushe ( the CN community APP ) to Mihoyo ( the CN HOYOVERSE ) , and today got the fix report.

Glad to see that they fixed this bug so quickly.

@Cha14ka Did the 4.0.1 update fix the issue on your end as well?
