After patching add the following line into "/etc/hosts" with command "sudo nano /etc/hosts":
0.0.0.0 log-upload-os.hoyoverse.com
The error is related to the change of the company name from mihoyo to hoyoverse.

How sure are you about this solution? I double-checked this now using mitmproxy but cannot find any requests to this domain. Do you have any network logs by any chance to confirm this?

EDIT: Similar issues are often related to the connection (-> VPN) or were caused by some sort of [a race condition in older Wine versions](https://notabug.org/Krock/dawn/src/master/TROUBLESHOOTING.md#freeze-when-loading-game-data).
@Krock I try remove this line, and yes... the game works fine without it.
My installation history

After install, game hangs when "checking for updates" (progress bar did not appear). I try restart game but the problem remains.
I reboot my laptop and try to add this line in /etc/hosts thinking that this was the solve, because i knew that the company had changed its name. And the game started working.

I can confirm that starting from 2.6 branch game uses *.hoyoverse.com domains for most resources. However, it seems that logging servers are still bound to *.mihoyo.com and *.yuanshen.com.
