It's a bit more complicated than I expected, because lwcomponents' hoppers don't have an inventory. (I'd forgotten this technicality.) Fancy_vend operates on the basis of pushing to an inventory, preferring a foreign one if possible, whereas lwcomponents operates by pulling stuff out of a specific inventory slot.
In the meantime, the workaround is to set up a vendor as follows, once PR #106 is accepted.
