From Wikipedia "Animator was considered to be groundbreaking in the field of computer animation when it was initially released, and was very popular in the late 1980s and the early 1990s. In the debut year 1989 Animator won PC Magazine's 6th Annual Technical Excellence Award for Graphics.

Also video game developers used the software for intros and other animated sequences in their games, for instance Formula One Grand Prix (1991, MicroProse) and Cannon Fodder (1993, Virgin Interactive)."

Full source code released under a BSD license some 10 years ago.

Hm. They say "Proprietary (Animator Studio) Freeware / BSD license (Animator Pro)". Maybe freeware is true for some old version? The version I linked to on GitHub is under a three-clause BSD license anyway.

EDIT: Except I did not, because I forgot to add the link to the end of the file. BRB

EDIT2: Link fixed.

Sorry for the delay in replying. I'll close this, since Animator Pro seems difficult to run on modern systems (only MSDOS binaries are provided).

That said, you may be interested in Pixelorama :)
