this might be two feature requests rather than one, but they're closely intertwined as i see them.

also relates to:

#3 & #4

i'd throw some money towards this project, to help with server costs or whatever else needed to ensure it gets off to a good start and keeps going, ... though i'd want some kind of assurance it doesnt just go into someone's pocket n the site disappears the month after that. hence the "foundation" notion.

i suspect there would be many a big name at fsf who would gladly put their weight behind this project too given the absence of such a free software git site. perhaps improved/closer ties there are possible, getting notabug to take shelter under fsf's wing.

seems win-win to me.

just throwing out this idea. :)

Just thought I'd note that, as zPlus suggests AGPL in #3, relicensing under the AGPL would probably help a lot in this regard (given that gitorious.org is being shut down that is).

Just to clarify, I mean in the sense that copyleft provides some sort of assurance that donations will not 'go to waste', i.e. nab becoming proprietary.

Just to clarify, I mean in the sense that copyleft provides *some* sort of assurance that donations will not 'go to waste', i.e. nab becoming proprietary.

(Sorry for the repeat posts, looks like there's no edit button.)

Found http://freepo.st/community/freesoftware/post/wjq6nm6j/AGPLing%20Gogs, which is related to my previous comments.

This issue is a year old, and I think it's best discussed elsewhere (IRC or freepo.st or emails). Should we close it?
